Message from Outgoing 2010 President

Message from the President, Julie Cho

Happy New Year!

Oh, how time flies!!  I cannot believe it is already the last day of 2010!

I will never forget that moment I attended my first yKAN community service event in Flushing, the countless handshakes that have yielded endless possibilities, and all the tears of laughter (and sadness) I have shared with many of you. You were the reasons that allowed me to move forward, to reach far beyond to achieve the impossible, and to redefine myself. And, while I am saddened by the prospect of saying goodbye, I am absolutely grateful for the opportunity and success you have bestowed upon me as your president and executive board member.

As I prepare to close one amazing chapter here at yKAN and prepare for my next journey, I cannot thank you enough for all your help and support! While seven years may seem like an eternity for some, mine was especially filled with valuable memories and loving friendships, so, to that end, I will always cherish it, forever - close to my heart.

This is what I leave behind: an organization filled with limitless potentials, members who aren’t afraid to reach out and help those in need, and a powerful mindset that knows no boundaries – even against long odds. And, while the saying “you’re the future!” may well be an understatement in this case, it is my greatest hope as an outgoing yKAN president that when it is your time to pass the baton to your successors – they, too, will recognize, understand, and appreciate what we have learned from our predecessors.

I thank you for everything you have done for me here at yKAN and will never forget this moment.

Cheers,
Julie Juhyun Cho
yKAN 15th & 18th President
